The Downtown Garland Square is now open for business. The business of gathering.
We had the privilege and honor of unveiling the reimagined Downtown Garland Square on Saturday, Oct. 14, and the celebration was one for the books. Garland’s very own LeAnn Rimes returned to her hometown to celebrate with us and provide a heartfelt performance. Watch a recap of the day’s festivities, which included a drone light show.
The grand opening was made official with a ribbon-cutting ceremony, which featured the Garland High School Mighty Owl Band and a special poetry dedication from Mike Hayslip and Elle Davis. Prior to the ribbon-cutting ceremony, Gary Gibbs, executive director of the Texas Commission on the Arts, conferred the state proclamation recognizing Garland’s Bankhead Cultural Arts District.
